SOLVO was awarded with the title of “Exporter of the Year” at the annual competition among small and medium-sized businesses in Saint Petersburg on November 15th. The competition was held as part of a special program “Regional integrated center - Saint Petersburg” organized by the Committee for consumer market and business development of Saint Petersburg.
SOLVO won the competition after being nominated for “Exporter with the longest export history.”
It should be noted that the contest was only open to those companies that are involved in “non-raw material” export.
The expert panel evaluated the nominees based on such criteria as: share of exports in relation to total company revenue, number of exported goods from of the total company products, number of foreign clients, geography of export shipments and experience in the export business. The final nominees consisted of 20 small and medium-sized companies.
The award ceremony was held at the “Four Season Lion Palace” hotel. The prize and certificate was awarded by the governor of Saint Petersburg, Georgy Poltavchenko.
“This was the first time we took part in this ‘Exporter of the year’ competition and it was a pleasant surprise or a gift, you can say, right in time for our company’s anniversary," stated Elena Grebenschikova, General Director of SOLVO.
"Of course, this is an award for everyone working at SOLVO as we have been working towards this for 20 years; not only on the Russian market but also providing our IT-solutions for clients abroad. Moreover, we have recently started to enter foreign markets as a company strategy, expanding our partner network and, of course, signing new business deals. We would like to thank the organizers of “Regional integrated center - Saint Petersburg” for holding this event and personally extend our gratitude to the governor of Saint Petersburg, Georgy Poltavchenko, for this honor."
The business part of the event focused on a motivational session, which saw the participation of four general directors from four well-known export companies based in Saint Petersburg. The executives shared their experiences working with other countries, focusing on key issues related to the export business.
The event culminated with a performance by soloist and people’s artist of Russia, Vasiliy Gerellofrom, from the world-famous Marinksy Theater.
