A year of successful Solvo.WMS operation at the warehouse of the OMEGA-Avtopostavka company
The first results of the warehouse of Commercial and Industrial company G-Avtopostavka LLC under Solvo.WMS management have been summarized.
During one year Solvo.WMS system has already successfully operated the warehouse Commercial and Industrial company G-Avtopostavka LLC. The first results of the operation were summarized.
Commercial and Industrial company Omega-Avtopostavka LLC- is one of the largest Ukranian distributors of automobile, construction, agricultural and special equipment, original spare parts and tires of CIS countries production. Direct suppliers of the company are Z, ZIL, Russian Cars (GAZ), UAZ, MAZ and others.
The object of automation is a warehouse complex consisting of three separate buildings, a total area of which is 15000 square meters. The total warehouse capacity is 20287 pallet places, 24562 shelf locations, 820 locations of cantilevered storage. At the warehouse the basic range of spare parts is constantly represented - 23 000 nomenclature positions from small-sized to large-sized products. The warehouse ships more than 300 orders within 24 hours.
In 2007 the companys management made a decision concerning technological process of the warehouse. After thorough analysis of a number of providers of the Western and Russian WMS systems, Solvo.WMS was selected, its functional completely meets all the requirements of the enterprise. One of the advantages of this selection was that Solvo.WMS successfully automated operation of a large number of warehouses, also in the companies which specific business area is distribution of a wide range of products. The system at the warehouse complex was implemented during the period of significant reduction of customers activity (during May holidays), so they decided to stop the shipment warehouse for three days. After the complete inventory the operation and maintenance phase of the system was started up. Shipping schedule delay due to warehouse stopping was eliminated during eight days after system start-up. As a result of Solvo.WMS implementation the warehouse complex has received the following:
- control over the warehouse operation in the real-time mode;
- administration of works distribution for picking and putaway by performance priorities procedure;
- flexible, customized rules to control effectively over goods placement into storage locations
taking into account all the freight characteristics;
- definitely adjusted index for picking the product;
- the possibility of control over the personnel and equipment during any period of time;
- interaction with ERP-system of the enterprise (1 Enterprise 7.7).
All that has reduced time for orders assembly and receipt of goods, increased labor efficiency of the warehouse personnel, reduced overall costs for its maintenance. The company Solvo expects Solvo.WMS to be a reliable device for efficient business of OMEGA-Avtopostavka in the future as well.
