The first results of high-technology OCS warehouse operation.
OCS company as part of the “National computer corporation” reports the first results of operation and maintenance phase of the warehouse management system Solvo.WMS. The main aim of the present information system implementation is optimization of the process of operation with material flows inside the central warehouse of the company. The system allows to manage all the technological operations at the warehouse in real-time mode and this improves service rate and quality of partnership of the company.
Nowadays OCS is the largest geographically dispersed distribution company which has more than 40 partner contracts with leading foreign and domestic vendors of software and hardware in IT sphere. OCS has advanced regional structure with branches in 21 cities of the RF. “Business to business” line consists of 6000 companies all around the Russian Federation. Each branch has its own office and warehouse with full range of functions on order to provide service to companies – partners.
During half a year operation and maintenance phase of the system has demonstrated essential growth of capability and capacity of the warehouse and also significant increase in efficiency and that allowed to form a new working schedule at the warehouse and reduce warehouse costs.
In the coming term they intend to change the motivation system. System elements will be reporting data on works quality, speed, capacity and other employees’ working characteristics formed in the management system.
This project includes WMS-system Solvo and ERP-system Microsoft Dynamix integration in a part of reference books, applications and reports exchange, Wi/Fi net installation, supply of mobile LXE MX8 terminals and staff training. The functional of Solvo system for distributor warehouse includes the system of planning and tracking of completed works on putaway, configuration and distribution of orders, accounting system of all operations at the warehouse.
Solvo.WMS solution has been selected due to developed functional, flexibility and adaptability of the system to specific tasks of the Customer, accessible system user interface and a great number of successful implementations in distribution companies of other sectors of economy (distribution of food, drinks, medicine, construction materials).
The new system implementation was carried out from November 2007 to August 2008. Thorough development of Technical Assignment, maximum accounting of business processes specifications, particular planning of all the stages of system changing allowed to perform implementation without laying off the business process, mistakes and delays in the warehouse work.
