The North West Public Correspondence Polytechnic University is a State higher educational institution under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education of Russian Federation.

The NWPI is a science methodological correspondence higher education center oriented to distant education for St.Petersburg and Russia North West citizens. Besides the Head University in St.Petersburg the University has 11 affiliates, elements of the correspondence learning process are provided in 16 University representative offices.

About 17.5 thousand students study in the University mostly internally or correspondingly. The University widely uses modern information and distant learning technologies, and also material and informational resources of St.Petersburg and North West enterprises.
