At the beginning of November 2021, workers at the Nakhodka-Vostochnaya port station on the Far Eastern Railway set a historical record for daily container loading – 451 wagons with container cargo (773 containers), which amounted to almost seven container trains. According to the Russian industry media "Gudok", the technical plan for loading at the station for November was overfulfilled twice. Most of the wagons on November 10, when the record was set, were sent from the terminals of SOLVO's client, Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company (VSC), the part of the Global Ports Group.
Radio data terminals (RDT) at a warehouse or cargo terminal are a kind of bridge for human interaction with WMS or TOS. Much has been said today about the role they play. But it is also important to pay attention to the automation of RDTs accounting. A company can significantly increase its efficiency and save resources by smartly storing and accounting not only cargo, but also warehouse equipment. Automation of control, storage and issuance of radio data terminals helps to reduce the paperwork, ease administrators work, simplify inventory processes, improve RDT service maintenance, increase the level of labor discipline, and even reduce conflicts among employees.
Warehouse and cargo terminal logistics are increasingly being combined into a single infrastructure. In an ideal worldview, these parts of a supply chain are usually considered separately from each other. But in real life it is quite possible that warehouses are being built on the territory of the terminals, and railways are leading to the warehouses. For this reason, IT developers are also trying to combine solutions for warehouses and terminals in one product, so that it is convenient for companies with different infrastructures to use it.
