SOLVO at the 5th MED Ports Conference in Barcelona

October 25-27 - SOLVO proudly took part at the 5th MED Ports conference in Barcelona, Spain. This major event was organized by Transport Events with support from the Port of Barcelona as well as conference participants including SOLVO.

At the conference, SOLVO announced its latest version Solvo.TOS 6.0, which combines the abilities of container and general cargo management systems. The updated quay crane operator’s interface based on the Panasonic FZ-G1 mobile device was also demonstrated.

President of the Port of Barcelona, Sixte Cambra, along with the Minister of Catalonia, the autonomous Spanish community, Josep Rull Andreu visited SOLVO’s stand and got acquainted with the solutions offered by the company for automating port logistics.

On September 25, participants visited the Port of Barcelona where they got the chance to see the Grimaldi Lines automobile ferry complex, the APM-Terminals group container terminal as well as the Barcelona Europe South Terminal (BEST) - a semi-automated terminal of the Hutchison Ports group.

The two-day conference included presentations from 30 speakers from all over the world, who focused on the most pressing issuing of transport and logistics infrastructure for the Mediterranean region. The conference was also attended by representatives from Catalonia’s government, the transport industry, port engineers, shipping lines, forwarders, as well as academics, IT and other experts.

On October 27, the conference hosted a session titled “International Logistics and Supply Chain: What Role Could Mediterranean Ports Play for an Integrated Strategy, Successful

Outcome.” Danial Pershin, head of marketing at SOLVO’s Russian headquarters, presented a report: “The prerequisites of the successful TOS implementation at mixed cargo ports and terminals and how to get faster ROI.”
